Grace Poon Ghaffari

Assistant Director, Education/Outreach Manager, SHARE Education
I believe that all violence & oppression is intersectional and preventable. Each of us has the power to change our culture and work towards a more socially just world.
As a student affairs professional, I strive to make all my work student-centered by building caring relationships and practicing intentional mentorship. I also take an intersectional and systems-based approach to all of my work due to my lived experiences of systematic oppression & violence as a Woman of Color. I create educational opportunities to have transformative conversations that empower all Stanford community members to practice their agency and engage in changing our culture. I strive to design experiences where all people across all identities and backgrounds can take a social justice approach to creating a culture of consent.

Grace received her B.A. in Economics, with a specialization in International Issues, at University of California, Irvine and received her M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs at New York University. Grace completed her California Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor and Mental Health First Aid certifications. She is also certified as a trauma-informed yoga teacher and has facilitated workshops and classes for survivors of sexual/relationship violence to support their healing. Previously, Grace worked in both public and private universities within fraternity/sorority life, residential education, student activities and leadership, and multicultural affairs. When Grace is not at work, she enjoys being in nature, sweating at a fitness studio, and exploring the bay area (which is where she grew up!).
